Code Academy is a fantastic proffesional website that is designed to help the average non-coder learn more about the world of coding and programming.

In the website's mission statement, the academy states that "education is broken" (2014, n.p.), this idea is derived from the observation of the publishers that technology use in education and training is lacking or inapropriate. The website's aim is to encourage people to enhance there lives by learning as much as possible about coding and programming.

The website has many features and an asthetically pleasing and simple to use user-interface. The website features options to learn various coding languages. This is done through effective online lessons and tutorials on language and syntax of the most often used coding languages. Code Academy also provides the user options to learn simple web developer skills, as well as learn the skills of application programmer interface so that one can create their own apps.

But what does mean to us?

Granted, information technology in schools could be considered "simple" to some, however, using the academy's website average teachers like us can learn to create their own programmes and apps, suitable for their classroom and most importantly, their students. It is a great tool to aide teachers in the development of an inclusive classroom and a quality learning environment.
